Mercurial book: some questions

Hello Bryan,

I've been interested in reworking the Mercurial book for a while. I'm still
not sure if I'll find enough time to do so, but I've at least found the
time for some small preparations over at
https://bitbucket.org/Mathiasdm/hgbook/ .

I started by making it possible to compile the book correctly again, for
English and Chinese (though the PDF version for Chinese doesn't work yet,
due to lacking Glyphs).

I'm currently looking at the comment system, and some things aren't quite
clear to me. It looks like you've partially used Django, but not for
everything?
There are some scripts to convert reviewers, to convert the chapters, ...
I'm considering integrating these into the Django application itself, but
perhaps there's a reason these scripts were used?

Also, I was curious about the ids used in your docbook xml. It looks like
these are used to correctly keep the comments mapped to specific sections
in the book. But then the converter.py script uses an md5sum of the chapter
along with an md5sum of the _text_ of the section? Why doesn't this use the
id of the section? The way it's implemented, each edit of a section will
remove the connection with the comments.

I know, the above questions might be slightly hard to answer, 6-7 years
later ;-)

Additionally, I see that there are a few license options to the Open
Publication License:

It's a bit unclear to me if these are meant to be enforced. I hope that
either they are not, or you are willing to grant permission to change the
contents substantially.
