confusing message for nonexistent remote dir

hg pull -u ssh://nbecker4/nowhere
remote: abort: There is no Mercurial repository here (.hg not found)!
abort: no suitable response from remote hg!

I find this a bit confusing.  Actually, there is no remote dir
called 'nowhere'.  I found this confusing because in my real case, the dir
was not called 'nowhere', but something more complicated with a subtle
spelling error (hyphen vs underscore).
