[PATCH] convert: support binary files, link to files (viceversa) in gnu arch

The patch itself is sane, but due to lack of tla repos using the
special features I can't tests this. Pushing anyway :)

Can you provide an automatic test for the tla source so others can
try it with their tla version, too? See tests/test-convert-* for
some examples.
