Excellent point!
I have been translating part of Mercurial into Danish and I would like
to point out that these abbreviations are bad style. In order to
translate the sentences into meaningful Danish, we need to start with
full and meaningful English sentences.
Here are some of the words that I think we should avoid using in the
documentation:
repo (repository)
rev (revision)
dir (directory)
Words which I don't really know how to translate:
diff
commit
committer
changeset (so far I've used "ændring" which means "change")
remote (output from remote system when pushing)
On the other hand, the bookmark concept is an example of a very good
concept: we use bookmarks in Denmark too :-) So this concept is easy to
translate into something meaningful.
