I have a directory structure like the following with several files named
.tmp_*~, but .hgignore refuses to ignore them.

A design-3/html/.tmp_index.html.50081~
A design-3/html/.tmp_index.html.60458~
A design-3/html/.tmp_index.html.93078~
A design-3/html/.tmp_vert-tabs.html.24770~
A design-3/html/.tmp_vert-tabs.html.70919~

Here are some of the entries I've tried in .hgignore:

syntax: regexp
.tmp_*~

syntax: regexp
.tmp_*~

syntax: glob
*.tmp_*~

syntax: glob
*.~
syntax: regexp
\.tmp*~$

The last two are straight out of the documentation at 

    http://www.selenic.com/mercurial/hgignore.5.html

None of them work.
