[issue1857] failed to apply patch

Could someone please test this script? i tested it on windows xp, and it
sais that patching failed.  It is rather important bug, since i can not
apply patch, that was sent to me.

Could anyone tell is the .patch file is incorrect, or anything else is wrong?
