So, talking about licensing problems is in sometimes a bad idea.
1. if you aren't a lawyer you shouldn't be seen to be giving out
advice as a lawyer
2. if you are a lawyer you don't want to be seen as giving out legal
advice for free to an infinitely large population
3. if there actually is a problem and you talk about it (admitting a
problem) and don't fix it, there might be a chance that you're seen as
negligent. you only get points if you address a problem as soon as
it's reported to you.

IANAL, the contents of this message is not legal advice.

thread: "Turning cvs2{svn,git} into cvs2hg"
by: "Michael Haggerty" on "Aug 1"

I believe that's the correct thread.

FWIW, I was just as surprised as you, and I personally am a centrist
who hates it when an extremist tail wags the dog. I don't think it's
fair for the extreme <pick a side> to be the only immovable group and
to be able to force everyone else to change to accept their opinion.

I hadn't gotten around to replying to Matt asking for him to convince me.

At this point, I'm probably not going to reply to him until this thread dies.
