I'm not sure where this came from, but i'd like to note that it's
wrong :(. It should be "added" ....

As a localizer, I want to complain about anyone's belief in "no need
for translation".
That said, it should be possible for the English text to use _("%d
modified") and have a note indicating that %d is a file count so that
another localizer knows that they can translate "%d modified files".
I'm not actually opposed to a compact output format, although it might
be best offered as some form of a translation overlay .. not sure.
Anyway, I'm going back to my 6000+string translation project....
