I just tried http://mercurial.selenic.com/ in IE9 with compatibility view on
and with it off and the header is rendering correctly both ways. I also
tried the 32 and 64 bit versions of IE9 (with and without compatibility
view) and it renders correctly there as well.

I'm running Win7 64 btw. I wonder if there is some other setting or plugin
that is causing the strange rendering. Maybe my machine is the anomaly, but
I have a standard install and the header area html+css looks normal.
