In this release, we've moved pager functionality into core and enabled it by default. For maximal compatibility across all systems, we default to less(1) on Unix-like platforms and more(1) on Windows in core. You are encouraged to configure ui.pager to something sensible for your target platform (on Debian and derivatives, for example, this should probably be set to sensible-pager(1)).

Note that the tag and signature are only in hg-committed right now -- this is due to a known bug in our new patch acceptance process and will be fixed at some point. The tag and signature should land in main within the next day or two.
