Problem with downloading kernel repository

I'm having major problems downloading whole kernel repo.
Either it is broken, my hg version is (commit
470:0ab093b473c5c5ab5f753f4342e0a9e0c12ebfcf)
or the link has problems (I didn't notice any, so it's highly unlikely)
The symptoms are hg telling me on the update that a certain file is
broken. I tried to download the tree two times and am starting to get a bit
mad at it. My 30KB max link is much too slow for any more tries.
I have these questions:
- Is it really broken or is it just me?
- Is there a possibility to download only a part of kernel history?
I'm really interested in 2.6.12 and beyond, not everything that's there.
- Maybe there could be a *ly tarball of history or something?
Or instead a support for not downloading the files revisions that are deemed
current. Then I can delete some revisions which got broken, the changelog and
pull only these revs.
