making patch a permanent changeset

Hi

I try to figure out how to make patch a permanent changeset.  There's
a subsection in Mercurial wiki, however it states "Need help here".
There's a section in Bryan's books devoted to mq, however it does not
say anything about what I'm interested in. :)

So how would you do this?  The only way I see so far is to deal
directly with .hg/patches directory, which does not seem to be right.
