Why not indeed?  In my original post, I mentioned unremove
as a good idea.  uncopy and unrename probably wouldn't work
due to the semantics.

Put simply, my point is: 'hg revert --add' will force me
to read the man page.  'hg unadd' will not.  I can be
confident that the latter will do exactly what I mean.

This is a human factors issue, not a code issue, and I
know this reply won't change anything today.  But maybe
it'll plant a seed for the future...

Mercurial is a fine product, and I appreciate your
efforts on it.  Thank you.
