Possible, but not likely — any reasonably up-to-date Mac software uses  
Unix newline characters. Older apps from the pre-OS X days did use \r  
instead, but I don't see how those would end up in the patch file  
unless it got edited by an ancient version of Word or something like  
that.

But maybe the patch file came from Windows and has \r\n linebreaks?
