abort: repository default not found!

After I copy my entire directory tree to another directory, and then
attempted a "hg pull", I got the following output:

Question is:   it is definitely ok that I can move my directory
around, right?     As hg only needs to access all the subdirectory
below the current ones, it should not have any problem with relocating
the  directory.

Executing all other commands for hg seems to have no problem though.
