I feel myself even more confused and even more stupid.

      * It is a user list, isn't it? Are the people here expected to
        read the source?
      * The function you referred is called 'read()'. But i'm talking
        about writing not reading.
      * Do you want to say with that, that "1228751240.00" is a correct
        string representation of the internal time (i.e. the time _plus_
        the timezone)? My question was about this.
