As far as I can see the script Igor sent doesn't do anything with the
hgwebdir.conf file. In your earlier emails I saw various names mentioned
for the config file ("hgweb.config", "hgweb.conf", "hgwebdir.conf"). So
maybe the problem is simply, as Gerard already guessed, that there is an
inconsistency between the filename you specified in hgwebdir.cgi and the
name of the config file. Maybe it helps to insert a syntax error (just some
random chars) in the config file you think should be read and then inspect
the apache error log.
