actually, strip leaves bundles in .hg/strip-backup/.  it's perfectly
possible to resurrect stripped history with unbundle or pull, provided
the repository still contains the strip-point's parent:

hg strip abcdef
# ouch, that was not the changeset i'm after
hg pull -uf .hg/strip-backup/abcdef*
