Using mercurial with secure password without kwallet

Hi,

I'm using KDE 3.5 in Ubuntu 10.4. For secure passwords in Mercurial, I was
told to use kwallet.

However kwallet has an annoying bug where, all day long, every 5 minutes it
spams a window "KDE has requested to open the wallet. Please type your
password", without any explanation why. This is not related to Mercurial,
just KDE and the wallet service.

So I'd like to not use kwallet, but still have working secure passwords for
Mercurial. How can I do this?
