Passphrase problem with TortoiseHg/MercurialEclipse on windows

OK ... I've indicated in another thread I am getting this under control but I
have one final hurdle to cross and I suspect that there may be a simple solution.

http://github.com/bitweaver has 160 repo's which are converted from the original
modules in the bitweaver CVS on SF.

http://github.com/bitweaver/bitweaver is an attempt at a 'superproject' to wrap
the core repos using.gitmodules, and I have my own
http://github.com/lsces/bitweaver which provides a fully development view of the
modules in .gitmodles and .hgsub format.

The question is "how should the subprojects be cloned to build the
superproject?" ... I have a script which scans and clones hg repos for each
direct from the .git repos, and then the .hgsub wrapper seems to be working, but
on windows the script stops on every hg clone git asking for the passphrase ...
no matter what I try. I think this is because I am trying to use the
TortoiseHg-hg from the windows command line? And this is bypassing 'plink'?

But obviously the other question is can I download the complete tree for a
superproject without downloading each repo individually?
