Warning aside (I was aware of it), I'm volunteering to help debug.

Starting inserve with --debug seems to print enough info to debug it,
but the circumstances that cause the bug seem to be obscure enough
that the engineer who can trigger it can't do it on demand. I'll see if
I can look at it next time he sees it.
