Gerrit?

Hi all,

We (Symbian) have been using Mercurial for a while now, and we're entirely
happy with it. However, we'd like to start doing more, by hosting a more
integrated, web-based front-end, for the process of contributing changes to
"staging-post" repositories, for package owners to then review and consider
for inclusion in the "master" repositories.

We've looked at Gerrit, which is OSS, and functionally it seems to do what
we're looking for by managing a database of merge requests. However, Gerrit
only works with Git at the moment, so it isn't something we can just deploy.
We've thought about undertaking the work to make Gerrit work with Mercurial
too, but that's a big step to take alone (but still not as big as developing
something from scratch!).

I can't find any information about this online at the moment, so...

* Is anyone on this mailing list aware of such an adaptation in progress at
the moment?
* Or under discussion?
* Has it been discussed in the past, and if what came of it?
* Would anyone else in the Mercurial community like to contribute to that
work?
* Are there any other OSS projects in progress which would deliver the same
kind of system for Mercurial?

(We're also asking the same thing on the Gerrit mailing list, to cover it
from that angle too.)

Thanks,
Simon
