Push Denied .hg/store/lock FC12 https ldap wsgi

Greetings all,
I am at my witty end and can't understand why I'm having this problem.
FC12 server with mercurial-1.5.1-1.fc12.x86_64
Serving multiple repos over https ldap with wsgi

All repos are outside of webroot and fully rwx for apache:apache
Browsing and clone is not problem.
But push is stuck with HTTP Error 500: Permission denied: .hg/store/lock

I'm using all the standard configs from wiki Publishing and mod_wsgi

There are no errors in any logs besides DeprecationWarning from Python2.6

I'm at a loss. Please help.
