The WhatsNew page has release dates, at least, but as I pointed out 
before, the section numbering then manages to add to the confusion:

It is of no consequence that, say, Mercurial 1.7.5 is section 8 of that 
page. I would argue dropping section numbers from these kinds of pages 
where different numbering schemes are present.
