Rebase documentation issues

Hello all,
I'm not sure this is the right place to ask, but I'm having a bit of
trouble wrapping my head around what the rebase extension really does. I
have the feeling the extension could have saved myself quite a bit of
trouble in the past, but I'm not quite getting it. The problem,
currently, I feel, is really in the documentation. Let me just list what
I feel is confusing/lacking and then hopefully someone can tell whether
I should see it as a bug or misunderstanding. I'm talking now about the
RebaseProject wiki-page:
* In the 'Usage' section the nomenclature is 'source', 'base' and
'destination'. In the section 'When rebase is not allowed' the
nomenclature suddenly changes to 'source' and 'target' and even 'rebase
point'. What is what - a consistent nomenclature for me would be quite
helpful.
* On top of that I think this section could really use a figure like
the examples above for each scenario. That would probably immediately
explain -why- a rebase is not allowed (which is kind of a mystery upon
reading this text)
* The the 'Scenarios' section really should have explicitly the
commands I think. And again: a lot of mixture of nomenclature: the
mixture I mentioned before, but also in letters used for the diagrams.
Given that these pages are Wikis, I guess I could be expecting remarks
like: 'Feel free to improve' But then I'd first need to understand
things and since I'm new to the concept, I also don't know what is
currently common nomenclature for people using the extension. I noticed
that the same confusion arises on the RebasePlan-page, so that doesn't
really help much.
Another thing I noticed is that it seems that (at least at the
documentation side) not much has been going on for quite some time (>1
yr) So maybe all of this is obsolete now, because it was superseded by
another extension??
Yours sincerely,
Jakob van Bethlehem
