I assume you are talking about TortoseHg 2.03.

This is the Mercurial mailing list. Mercurial is included in TortoiseHg.

I assume you are using TortoseHg on Windows, so you are probably talking
about the icons shown in Windows explorer.

Try F5 key or "Update icons" from the TortoiseHg submenu of the context
menu in the directory. Navigating into different directories (up/down)
usually updates icons too.
