This kind of example is surely just to show what Mercurial commands look 
like and to reassure people with experience of other systems that they 
are familiar.

People like to see things "in action". For example, I tried for ages to 
get actual code onto the Python home page without much success, despite 
the appearance of the language being one of its fundamental properties.

It looks like the "row" class sets the overflow property to "hidden", 
and thus the text is just clipped beyond the right hand boundary. 
Arguably, the page should use more vertical space: setting a fixed width 
of 900 pixels on the whole page is probably not the way to go.
