Notify extension: mail server capability problem?

Sorry for the quoting problem, and top-posting. Is it better like this ? :)
My notify settings, and the [smtp] section, are in the repo's .hg/hgrc.

So I tried your suggestion by removing the smtp.password property
(smtp.username is still defined though) and... it works.
I thought I would have needed a valid username _and_ password in order
for the smtp server to let Mercurial send mails (that's why my
previous post may have seemed a bit confused), but it works like this.
