In addition to all that has been said: Of course "inserted" regions have 
text at right but not at left, "deleted" regions have text at left but 
not at right, and "changed" regions have text on both sides, but 
possibly of different length, so the distinction between "inserted" and 
"deleted" is not "by colour alone".
