To greg's question, I'd add:

* Why `summary`? Is there any other command with such an actual options?
* Why not suggest templates support instead? I think that would be
  significantly more flexible and useful in both short and long term, your
  output could be obtained via something along the lines of `hg blame file
  --template='{rev} {desc|firstline}'`, and can be reused for e.g. log. It
  would also make all other templates (such as ISO8601-formatted dates or
  somesuch) available to blame.
