Clarify peeropts in hg.cone(...)?

Hi,
I asked this on IRC but I was told I would get better answer via the
mailing list. Thanks.
clone(ui, peeropts, source, dest=None, pull=False, rev=None, update=True,
stream=False, branch=None)
But I don't see peeropts mentioned in the docstring. I figured out by
reading the source code carefully.
Example:
from mercurial import hg, ui
r = hg.clone(ui.ui(), {}, 'https://bitbucket.org/yeukhon/aurum-cli',
update=False)
I traced the usage of peeropt and I found in the same file mercurial/hg.py
we have
*
*def remoteui(src, opts):
.....
# copy ssh-specific options
for o in 'ssh', 'remotecmd':
v = opts.get(o) or src.config('ui', o)
I am guessing the key 'ssh' you can pass in a string of all ssh commands.
What's remotecmd then?
I also see "peer" being used extensively throughout the codebase. What
exactly is it?
Thanks!
Best,
Yeukhon
