Would like to push code from windows cmd to hg repo located in linux

Hi,

Thanks for looking in to this post.

I am new to Mercurial.
I would like to push my code from windows cmd prompt to mercurial repository
located in Linux server.

when I tried hg push ssh://myusername://servername/reponame
it is repeatedly asking me password and failing even after entering
password.

Could somebody guide me how users can be created and access repository from
outside?

I have browsed in google somebody suggesting to have ~/.hgrc , but that
didn't help me.
