100s of thousands of hgtstatus files

I'm accessing these lists from nabble - perhaps a sub-forum should be created
for TortoiseHg?  It comes kind of hand-in-hand with mercurial, is listed
prominently on the selenic page, the fact mercurial has solid windows gui
support is one of its "selling" points etc.

As for the question regarding files with the same name - the file has a
unique hash-looking suffix on it which is why there can be 100s of thousands
of them.
