Interactive name/password to a Mercurial server

Desiring
to enter interactively the name/password required to gain access to a
Mercurial compliant server (actually: Google code) so, say, to Push
changes, I wander if anyone positively knows what's the format, as
all my attempts (upon the “Mercurial Client Input” dialog box)
led to a “Password Error” (whereas no problem entering it as a
.hg\hgrc config param).Thanks. - P.M.
