rebase: preserve working directory parent (BC)

Hello,

I have just update my mercurial version 2.7.3 -> 2.8.2.
I saw in the release notes that now rebase does not update the working
directory.

As there is no issue number (what BC means ?), I don't know why
(performance/elapsed time is a valid one) but why is there no option
'-u|--update' to update the working directory ?
The old behavior seems me natural.
