The problem I have here is that a number of the projects I work with that
unilaterally adopted GIT ( that really is the right name! ) are now dropping the
keyword lines as 'not necessary'. Adding a complete comment line to every file
makes sense to me for much the same reason highlighted. For scripted language
support people can 'cherry pick' files and then you have little idea where they
came from.
This is an area that would benefit from a more formal standard approach!
