Logging push and pull actions on Remote server

Guys,
I want to be able to log push and pull actions from my remote "Official
repo".  I would like to be able to log the time and user info when someone
pulls and/or pushes to my remote repo.  I assume I can do with with hooks
but I not sure which hooks to use.  Can anyone shed some light for me?
