Ok, never mind, this started as a request for help and has now turned into
a footnote. While trying to think of what to check, I finally cleared the
extensions section of my ~/.hgrc. I think my old hgsubversion extension
was the issue. Since I never got the URLs right into the SVN repository, I
have no downside to blasting it away.
When I tried to play around with my command line just now, in connection
with the hg log thread, I got an exception for 'NoneType' object has no
attribute 'islocalrepo' . I managed to get this with hg status as well.
My repos were built with 1.9 something, but I'm now running 3.3.2
(attempting to update a virtenv somehow escaped and update The Real Env).
Anyway, it looks like I sussed out what to do and life is good now, but I
thought it might be helpful to put a mention in the archives.
