git plugin send patches via email

Hi


    - I have write access to a public git repo and I use the git plugin
      and two mercurial repos, a native and a bridge to push and pull.
      Everything works fine.

    - I am considering to do the same with a git repo I don't have write
      access to and therefore I need to send the patches via email. The
      question is how do I do this for a git repo?
