It is also worth making sure that the Windows Indexing Service is turned
off on any repositories. Right click on the top level folder,
Properties, Advanced, Turn Off "Allow files to be indexed", click Apply,
Select Apply to sub-folders & OK - (with a large repository you may now
wish to go for a coffee break or maybe even lunch).
