For the most part, hg works well enough that I haven’t had too many questions. Most of what I want is better tracking of binaries, which nobody really seems to care about, oddly.

The reality is that, of course, our world is complex- and if someone is using a product, paid or not, that frustrates them, they may fire off an intemperate email. This does not excuse a nasty reply. It’s perfectly fine to say nothing, or give a hollow commiseration, or whatever.
I will say that I find this negative attitude understandable in the open community, but I do think it’s counterproductive. When I call and complain about a paid product, I’m amazed at the number of firms who seem to have zero interest in actually fixing the problem so they can retain my business.
