Cannot push large repository to remote site

Hi list,

last week I posted a request concerning difficulties with pushing a 
relatively large repository to a remote server.
This is to inform you that the first solution received, namely that from 
Simon King (to push partially, revision after revision) has definitely 
worked.

I conjecture that one of the lower revisions contained a number of thick 
binary files, but I cannot be sure.
