Error 255 while commiting likely due to single inverted fileseparator

Nothing in Windows internally actually cares about / vs \ and that / has been in
Mercurial for a decade, so this theory is extremely unlikely.

However, it is possible that the filename is indeed the problem, especially if
it uses German characters. An uncensored version of the error message would be
more helpful.
