As a long suffering Eclipse user, any improvements would be welcome. I
use thg in parallel with eclipse and beyond compare sandwiched in
between. Something of a mess at times, but on a linux desktop it works
well when moving between local archives and those on the production
servers.
However I probably agree that the eGit code may not be the best starting
point, but Java code is quite low down on my usability scale coming from
Algol/C/C++ and now PHP with Python mixed in at times. Git *IS* the
problem and a perfect example of 'marketing' getting a better hold of
users than 'good coding practices'. There are far too many strings to
keep control off today and a simplification of some areas would be most
helpful to many of us.
