Can't edit commit message by pressing m in 'crecord' interactive mode

He does want to use the editor. The problem is it isn't running whenever he calls it like it used to.  He wants to edit the commit message as he makes the decisions on which hunks are being checked in.

I do the exact same thing but I'm using TortoiseHg not the command line and "Use TortoiseHg" is probably not the help he's looking for.
