Diffstat broken?

In Hg 4.4.1, the ‘--stat’ option doesn't appear to produce any output with
‘diff’ and ‘log’. Beginning to bisect this, it appears to have been dropped
somewhere after 4.1.1 (works), up to 4.2.3 (doesn't work).
