bookmarks moving on "hg update"

Greetings!

There was a thread a few months ago (which I have lost) discussing the behavior of bookmarks combined with a bare "hg 
update".  Several folks thought bookmarks should not move on a bare update, and there was even a patch floating around 
that implemented that behavior.

So my question:  Did that change ever make it into the stable branch?  If not, does anyone know where I can find that patch?
