hg pull -u (helix) does not move to tip

Hi 

Since some weeks I noticed that when running 

 hg pull -u 
(path is set)

>From helix, 

The local repository does not get updated and that is why I have to run
an additional 

hg up tip

Which I start to find annoying. 

Ok my version is the most recent one
5.2rc0+20200125

(because I still have not find the time to make more recent version of
mercurial work with all the extensions I use)

Or is it the use of evolve/topic that might cause. 

Did anybody experience  the same problem? If not I try to debug it
