hg-stable repo snapshot no longer available?

Howdy,

The mercurial download page at

    https://www.mercurial-scm.org/wiki/Download

provides a link to a snapshot of the hg-stable repo

    http://mercurial-scm.org/repo/hg-stable/archive/tip.tar.gz

But that link results in an error of

    An error occurred while processing your request:
    Archive type not allowed: gz

It looks like archives are not available from that repo.

The main development repo, hg, offers this functionality.

Would it be possible to enable archives for hg-stable?
