Google drive insync, mercurial and error messages: symbolic links

Hi 

For the  moment I am still using, for some collaborators
dropbox+mercurial and have not found so far any error (using hg verify)

I also gave google_drive + insync a try.

However this app gives me error message concerning symbolic links

For example

Repo/.hg/wcache/checklink was not uploaded because syncing systemlinks
is not supported.

Etc etc

Now the question is how serious is this error message? If an colleague
synchronise the repository without this link what would happen?

I know a lot of people will tell me using dropbox or google drive is
calling for trouble, but, unfortunately I have my reasons
